Emily Hope
PhD Candidate
Emily Hope is a current Ph.D. candidate at the University of Toronto, studying the economics of wildland fire aviation under Dr. Mike Wotton. Emily’s research focuses on key cost components associated with aerial suppression. Her analyses will examine a wide variety of issues, including current limitations, new aircraft, and future demand for these aircraft. Prior to attending the University of Toronto, Emily worked with the Canadian Forest Service as a Forest Resource Economist at the Great Lakes Forestry Centre. While with the Canadian Forest Service, Emily studied a wide variety of topics, including the economic costs of invasive species, the financial feasibility of bioenergy, and the economic costs of wildland fires.
